Heartland Flyer
Pauls Valley is one of the scheduled stops for Amtrak's Heartland Flyer. Sit back, relax and enjoy the unique scenery unfolding outside the windows of Amtrak's Heartland Flyer, running its 418-mile daily round trip between Oklahoma City, heart of the Sooner State, to Fort Worth, Texas, the original "Cowtown."
Since rail service was restored between Oklahoma and Texas in 1999, after a 20-year absence, passengers have been lining up to celebrate the train's return. Their interest has been rewarded. In the first year after its reinstatement, the Heartland Flyer proved itself with high ridership figures and a near perfect on-time record - the only intercity train to boast this kind of performance.
Over 366,000 people have ridden the Heartland Flyer since service began. Ridership numbers for the Pauls Valley station during June 1999 to August 2005 are as follows: 38,087
The Heartland Flyer provides an inexpensive, reliable, alternate means of transportation to the 90,551 Oklahomans over 65 who don't drive.
Trails & Rails
"Trails & Rails" is a partnership between the National Park Service and the Heartland Flyer to provide on-board education programs. Volunteers will act as tour guides and provide information on topics, such as the rich & diverse cultural heritage of Oklahoma, the history & geology of these areas, descriptions of the landscape, animals and plants, the economic story, and the role of the railroad in these areas.

Special Events
Special events to attract additional riders are held through out the year. Past events included a Mardi Gras train, the Easter Bunny, a Murder-Mystery, Uncle Sam, a Beach Party, a Halloween train where route-specific ghost stores were told, Santa Claus, and New YearŐs Eve celebration.
Seniors & Kids Clubs
The Heartland Flyer Coalition maintains a Seniors Club and Kids Club with fare discounts and extraordinary opportunities. Special activities are regularly planned on board targeting these groups.
Discounted Fares
Military personnel, their spouses and their dependents, receive a discounted fare and are regularly used by personnel located in Oklahoma.
Since Amtrak began keeping statistics, the Heartland Flyer has consistently been #1 in Customer Service Satisfaction, beating ALL the other trains in the Amtrak system.
